With more than three decades of experience in the financial services industry, Derek Tangeman brings a wealth of knowledge and a client-first approach to his role as a financial advisor and branch supervisor at Raymond James. He specializes in comprehensive financial planning, helping clients create roadmaps designed to achieve financial independence and support intergenerational wealth transfer.

Derek has a particular passion for serving former military members, drawing on his own background to provide tailored guidance. His thoroughness, active listening and proactive service mentality enable him to foster strong partnerships and long-term relationships.

Before joining Winter Park Wealth Group (WPWG), Derek held leadership and advisory roles at Alex. Brown & Sons, Smith Barney and AndCo Consulting. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a bachelor’s degree in economics.

Outside the office, Derek enjoys swimming, cycling, playing golf, and volunteering to support military and first responder communities. Originally from Sanford, Florida, he now lives in Winter Park with his wife, Terry. They have three grown children.
